We are a non-profit organization based in Ormoc City, Leyte, Philippines, providing services mainly to poor farmers, fisherfolk and women since October 1989, when we registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission as a foundation. Our advocacies include environmental conservation, sustainable agriculture and women's rights, and the projects we undertake follow this main thread. As our name indicates, we believe in the dictum that people can better solve their problems if they unite and pool their talents and resources together and if they rely mainly on their own capacity. However, we also believe in establishing networks and partnerships with other similar organizations both in the Philippines as well as abroad because our efforts alone may not have as much impact as when we work with other organizations in the issues that we advocate.
